Petshop is a shared creative space in Benson
with galleries, studios, offices, and event space.

About

Taking over what was a defunct exotic pet store,
Petshop was founded as a studio & gallery space in June 2012 by Ben McQuillan, Jamie Danielle Hardy, & Alex Jochim.

Next door, within the same building, a similar space dubbed Sweatshop was founded in July 2012
- featuring a gallery and live music venue - by Kim Darling, Sarah Rowe, Alex Jochim, Jamie Danielle Hardy, Dan Cavanagh, & Caitlin Little.

In 2015, a wall was knocked down and the two became one under the name PETSHOP.

In 2018, PETSHOP expanded further north, to encompass 2725, 2727, & 2729 N. 62nd Street.
This new addition holds additional studio spaces, along with the offices, meeting space, and storage for BFF Omaha.

Petshop was created by a team of creatives
and a supportive community.
"Sweatshop Date Night" - above - was a successful fundraiser partnered with Lot 2 restaurant in 2013.

PETSHOP Gallery - 2023 Brick & Mortar POP UPS

In 2023, PETSHOP is bringing back the opportunity for start-up creative retailers to occupy one of Petshop's galleries (located at 2725 & 2727 N. 62nd St)!

Want to explore how your creative business might function without leasing a space?
This is your chance.
BFF will:

provide 24 hour access to one of Petshop's gallery spaces to selected retailers within a pre-determined (~) 2 month time period
provide supplemental promotions during the POP UP time period (social media, website, print, press releases, etc)
cover all overhead costs of the building (rent, utilities, maintenance, etc)

Selected retailers must:

creatively utilize the gallery in a pre-approved aesthetic and curated manner
provide consistent open hours of operation during POP UP time period
track all sales, remit appropriate sales taxes, and provide 10% gallery commission fee on all sales
